  • Making the 2012 Olympic Book: a first look

The ITF started producing an official Olympic book for the Olympic Tennis Event at Beijing 2008, and has continued this new tradition by creating another one for London 2012.

This year's book, based on the idea of who, or what, inspired you when you were young, features tennis's most talked-about players revealing who their heroes were growing up, accompanied by some stunning photography and photos of the players themselves as a child.

The book gives both the tennis family and the fans a chance to see the players in a different light, as well as celebrating the sport's Olympic history and stars of past, present and future Olympics.

The 40 Olympic and Paralympic players featured in the book include current world No. 1s Novak Djokovic and Victoria Azarenka, doubles champions Bob and Mike Bryan, Olympic medallists Roger Federer, Stanislas Wawrinka, Rafael Nadal, and Vera Zvonareva, Great Britain's Andy Murray, Paralympians Esther Vergeer and Shingo Kunieda, and the up-and-coming Kei Nishikori, Milos Raonic and Agnieszka Radwanska. Over 25 nations worldwide are represented.

Featured alongside this year's Olympic hopefuls are photoshoots with past Olympic medal winners Boris Becker (1992), Elena Dementieva (2008), Arnaud Di Pascuale (2000), Nicolas Massu (2004), Gabriela Sabatini (1988) and Arantxa Sanchez-Vicario (1992, 1996).

You will find everything you need to know about the book here, including sneak previews of the photoshoots, interviews, competitions and launch details. The book will be published in June.
